WHO
ARE WE? |
|
We are a group of people of different life and
professional options, sensitive and concerned
about women’s role inside of the catholic
church and society, where we find a real lack
of coherence with the evangelical message. |
|
|
WHAT
DO WE SEEK? |
|
We want to be a group of both, reflection and
action, aware of the importance feminine contribution
has, or should have, for the ecclesial community
with an aim to enrich it, in equality of conditions
as men, as full right members to the People of
God. Therefore, as interested part of this community,
we wish to take part in its progress through the
world. |
|
|
We wish to live our faith in an adult
and responsible manner, with freedom of mind,
being critical and constructive. Avoiding to enter
into complex interpretations of ecclesial rules
created by men and at their service, and focussing
our work to the unblocking of the marginal situation
where church keeps women in clear opposition to
today’s mentality and social advances. |
|
|
We want the negative attitude of Church
towards women to change, particularly the hierarchy.
This mentality has had, and still has a strong
influence on society. Such change would grant
church credibility, would mean a recognition of
people’s rights and duties and the achievement
of a major degree of justice and evangelical fraternity. |
|
|
|
Given the strong moral influence
that religion has, we wish to make our approach
and any other feminine religious criterium understood. |
|
|
|
|
WHAT
CHANGES CAN WE BRING TO THE CURCH TODAY? |
A new point of view. All aspects
related to faith and life, are experienced differently
by men and women. Besides, traditional education,
has generally excluded women and their voice has
been silenced within society and church. An updated
creativity and working together with men, would
enable all of us to reach a renewed evangelization. |
|
|
A new reflection. An original
theological approach, unknown, feminine. A new
voice to be listened to in lecture rooms, together
with the masculine one, and the valuable contribution
and experience of base women loyal in the difficult
times of the beginning.
|
|
|
A new language, respectful
and considered to women, either when praying
or when celebrating, as well as when understanding
the bible, enabling us to express our faith
with our own words.
|
|
|
A new action. Women
want to bring a new way of doing and a different
vitality. Direction and action, at all levels,
must be shared by men and women according to
their values and not according to their sex. |
|
|
A new structure. Society
tends to accept democratic patterns which, through
voting or agreements, decide the progress of
events. The Church should make an effort to
adapt to today’s mentality. Catholic men
and women should not have different life schemes
for society and for religion. Democracy would
greatly benefit the promotion of women, enabling
them to take upon ministries and services that
have been traditionally forbidden for the sole
sake of inherited laws and moral habits. |
|
|
A new space of freedom
where everyone, especially those facing personal
or collective struggle are sheltered and accepted.
A new environment respectful to any conscience
and any life option where difference can be
lived with no ecclesial exclusion. |
